HYBRID INTERPLAY // GROUP EXHIBITION

What happens when we merge past and present? Hybrid Interplay invites us to explore this question through the works of four contemporary artists who all draw inspiration from timeless concepts and recurring themes that have shaped human history. Diana Ruban, Fatima de Juan, Marina Iglesias, and Laila T. Hara each bring their unique approach to the exploration of folklore, myth, and tradition – creating dialogues between different times, cultures, and perspectives.

The exhibition delves into an interplay of past and present, where the familiar motifs of legends, esoteric symbolism, and mythological figures are reimagined in vibrant, hybrid forms. Each artist blends ancient symbols with modern techniques, reinterpreting the language of history through contemporary media.

The title Hybrid Interplay encapsulates the essence of the exhibition – a fusion of diverse influences and styles. Each artist brings together disparate elements from different mythologies and cultural histories, crafting new, hybrid narratives that invite reflection. Through the interplay of their practices, we witness a dynamic exchange of ideas that transcends time, encouraging us to see how the past continues to shape the present and future.
